OwlSports Update: September 20, 2018

Vito Malacari and Sarah Metts kick off this edition of OwlSports Update with the news of winning teams across campus, from football to women’s volleyball to women’s soccer. First, Temple Football crushed the Maryland Terrapins in a 35-14 victory. Jimmy Freas has more on the Owls’ defense and how it carried them to a win. Collin Hicks tells us how defensive lineman Michael Dogbe has transformed himself in the weight room to become one of the top defensive lineman in the AAC. Next, despite wins over the weekend against New Hampshire and Princeton, Temple Women’s Volleyball has a record of 3-9, a far cry from their typical success; Tom Hughes has the story. Later, Celena Sanchez checks out the men’s soccer team as their last four games have gone into overtime. Sarah Metts speaks with Justin Miller from the Resnick Center about the “Verified” program, a career development program for student-athletes. Spencer Tracy learns more about the transition from athlete to coach for two graduate assistant coaches for women’s rowing.
