Scarlet Street

Scarlet Street

This is Fritz Lang’s classic film noir about a meek and unhappily married cashier, Christopher Cross (Edward G. Robinson), who longs for a more bohemian life as a Greenwich Village artist. He gets his chance after breaking up what he thinks is a robbery attempt and saves a beautiful woman, Kitty March (Joan Bennett), from being assaulted. Falling hopelessly in love, Chris is blind to the fact that Kitty is not what she seems.
