Temple’s School of Media and Communication hosted the annual Lew Klein Alumni in the Media Awards last year, where comedienne/writer/producer Tina Fey was honored with the 2016 Excellence in the Media Award. Fey also addressed Temple students before the awards ceremony in a Q&A session, giving advice on how to achieve success in the entertainment industry. Although she never attended Temple, Fey established, along with her brother Peter, the Donald Fey Memorial Scholarship at SMC following their father’s death last year. The fund supports veterans who want to return to school at SMC, as Donald Fey did after the Korean War.
